Horton fundraiser receives award from Banbury GMB branch

Ken leads the way for the Banbury KTHG & GMB at the NHS 70th Birthday Demo in July 2018.

Keep the Horton General fundraiser Ken Hopkins has been presented with a special award for his work raising money for the campaign to save Banbury’s acute hospital services. The hard working campaigner has spent most of the summer collecting saleable items, running car boot sales and assisting with other fundraising events for the Horton Fighting Fund. Last week he was given the GMB Activist of the Year award by the Banbury No 1 Branch. GMB’s Stevie Robertson said: “The award was to give Ken well-deserved recognition of everything he does.” “We gave him the 2018 GMB Activist of the Year award as recognition for all his fund-raising work for the KTHG. “Ken is an example and inspiration to us all. He is someone who doesn’t just talk the talk but walks the walk and certainly takes the fight for our local hospital out into the community. The branch is proud to have him as a member.”
